In this drawing I was asked to capture the essence of tiger fishing, which is one of my client's favourite fish to catch. It was decided that the composition would be a collage to capture the fisherman and his quarry in equal detail. The tigerfish was to be jumping with its menacing jaws and flared gills exposed. I decided to draw the fish the split second it leaves the water, hinting at its habitat below the water's surface.
